The NSW Federation of Community Language Schools hosted an excellent Conference and Professional Development day at the University of Sydney, with 40 workshops and a range of lectures and seminars, which covered many aspects of teaching quality, how to keep students engaged and interested, assessing learning effectively, and networking with other schools.

This was a fantastic opportunity for Green Valley Languages and Arts School to get involved, and we found that it was a day well spent, with useful information on the use of technology, governance, and updating teaching methods and practices that were of benefit to our teachers. Of particular interest was the keynote address by Professor Lesley Harbon, Head of School of International Studies from the University of Technology, Sydney, on child psychology and learning a second language. Both our Principal and Vice Principal attended, alongside some of our language teachers.
